SETAC Europe 36th Annual Meeting

The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) annual meeting will take place May 17-21, 2026, in Maastricht, The Netherlands. The conference’s overarching theme is “Embrace the outlier. In science, regulations and networks.”

This theme aims to challenge the SETAC community to acknowledge outliers and value their potential merits, while at the same time maintaining the highest scientific practices that are transparent and reproducible. Potential session chairs are encouraged to elaborate on less prevailing issues within their fields, while the use and inclusion of non-standard methods and approaches may be addressed in more regulatory-oriented sessions.

This motto also strives to inspire and equip participants with a broad mindset, knowledge, and tools needed to drive meaningful change, ensuring a safer and more sustainable future and provide new ideas for testing the advancements in practical case studies across all stakeholder groups, including those not usually targeted, to derive ‘lessons learned’ and showcase success stories.
