Join us for the hybrid expert workshop “Implementation of the SSbD concept for industrial impact” co-organized by IRISS International SSbD Community and the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3).

The workshop takes place on November 10, 2025 (09:00–12:00 CET), followed by the SSbD25 Conference (November 10–12). Participate online or on-site at Empa-Akademie, the dedicated conference facility of Empa – Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, located in Dübendorf, Switzerland.

Why join this workshop?

Across industries, the need for safer, more sustainable materials and products is growing – yet the practical implementation of SSbD principles remains underexplored in sectors like toys and electronics.

Our aim is to raise awareness, share initial success stories, and offer a space for open exchange around SSbD – especially for companies and practitioners who are just beginning to engage with this concept.

What to expect?

We are excited to welcome Prof. Dr. Klaus Kümmerer as keynote speaker, offering a high-level introduction to the importance and potential of SSbD.

The agenda will include:

  • Inspiring case studies from companies applying SSbD – even those not manufacturing chemicals or materials.
  • Interactive discussions, not just presentations – to spark cross-sectoral dialogue and identify shared challenges.
  • Time for networking, exchange, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and joint innovation.
