Driving Innovation in Health Cost Assessment
The third METEOR Cluster Meeting and Thematic Workshop took place on 21–22 October in Angers, bringing together around 40–60 participants onsite and remotely. Hosted by the Université d’Angers on behalf of the METEOR cluster – in which the Valesor project plays a central role – the event marked a major milestone in advancing economic valuation methods that will inform European environmental health policy.
Project Progress
The meeting opened with an overview of progress across work packages, confirming strong advancement toward final deliverables. Key strategic actions focused on stakeholder engagement, dissemination activities and preparation of tools to support EU policy implementation. Work Package leaders reported concrete developments in modelling, data integration and stakeholder outreach, underlining the project’s growing impact and scientific relevance across the METEOR cluster and VALESOR consortium.
Workshop Highlights
The thematic workshop focused on Economic Valuation of Environmental Stressors, featuring leading experts from the European Commission, OECD, research institutes and national agencies. Presentations explored methods to monetise health impacts, integrate multiple health endpoints and strengthen benefit transfer methodologies. Discussions highlighted how outcomes from METEOR and VALESOR will contribute to evidence-based decision-making and support Europe’s transition towards zero pollution and healthier environments.
Valesor Workshop
On 23 October, the Valesor consortium hosted a remote workshop, further presenting the content of Valesor tool while making cooperation with PARC project and other METEOR cluster project.
